Your questions about our rooms

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check in is possible from 3 pm, check out until 12 noon. A later check-out is possible subject to availability – just contact us.

What are the reception hours?

Our reception is staffed around the clock. We are also there for you if you arrive late.

At which address can I find the hotel?

You will find us centrally located in Rostock: ScanHotels Stadthafen, Am Strande 6, 18055 Rostock.
Directly at the city harbor – in the middle of the city action.

Are there non-smoking rooms?

Yes, all rooms are non-smoking.

Is luggage storage possible?

We are happy to store your luggage safely at reception – on arrival or departure.

What special offers are there?

You can find our current offers on the offers page – for special stays at a special price.

What payment options are available?

We accept Maestro, Visa, V Pay, Mastercard, Diners Club, JCB, PayPal and bank transfer.

Do I have to pay a tourist tax?

The Hanseatic City of Rostock charges a visitor’s tax of €3.70/day (from 15 years of age). In return, you will receive a guest card including use of public transport and discounts with numerous partners.

How do I get from the main station to the hotel?

Whether from the main station or from the city center:
You can easily reach us by streetcar. From Rostock main station, take lines 3, 5 or 6 to the “Stadthafen” or “Neuer Markt” stop in just a few minutes. From there you can reach us on foot in approx. 6-9 minutes.

What does the Green Deal mean?

Save on daily room cleaning and enjoy your minibar drinks free of charge. For stays of three nights or more, you will receive fresh towels, empty garbage cans and refilled toiletries on the third day.

Do you offer room service?

Yes, breakfast 6.30-12.00, hot meals 11.00-21.30. Orders by app, phone or reception. Surcharge: 5 €.

Is it possible to hire a bike on site?

Yes! city bike 12 €/day, e-bike 26 €/day. Ideal for tours through the old town or to the sea. Book directly at reception.

Which voucher offers do you provide?

Is the hotel barrier-free?

Yes, all public areas are barrier-free. We also offer barrier-free rooms. Please contact us if required.

Are there options for group reservations?

Do you have allergy-friendly rooms?

On request, we can remove carpets and equip your room with bed linen suitable for allergy sufferers. Please specify when booking.

Our answers about the brand

What does the start of ScanHotels mean?

We have been welcoming guests to this place for 20 years. Together with strong partners, we have created a place of experiences and encounters.  
Another chapter begins with ScanHotels – with a familiar team, the usual quality and an attitude that focuses on what makes our hotel special: personality, regionality and hospitality with heart and mind.

Why a new brand?

Rostock is not a metropolis – and that is precisely why this city deserves its own concept. We believe that hospitality starts locally. With people who are approachable. With experiences that you can only have here. From 2026 – with the opening of our hotel at the city harbor – we will welcome our guests to three restaurants, three bars and three event areas in Rostock. This diversity requires individual offers that are particularly well suited to the north – characterized by proximity, taste and character.

Is the company changing?

No. The company operating the hotel remains unchanged and therefore also
all agreements that we have made with guests and customers.

Will my booking remain valid?

Yes, your booking (e.g. rooms, events) is secure and valid with us – regardless of when it was made. Arrival and stay are possible as planned.

For example, I have ordered a table in a restaurant, for brunch or ball tickets
– will anything change?

No. All reservations and orders remain valid.

I have a voucher – is it still valid?

Yes, all vouchers already issued remain valid until the specified expiry date.

Can I continue to enjoy the benefits of the previous loyalty program?

Points from the loyalty program can no longer be collected or redeemed. Existing bookings with benefits from the program will of course remain valid. The ScanHotels loyalty program is already being planned – more on this soon.

Will previous offers and events continue?

Yes, definitely! It is very important to us that the hotels are places for people to meet, and that is precisely why offers such as brunch, after-work and the annual Ball Léger will continue.

Will I continue to meet familiar hosts?

Yes, our team will remain. Your familiar hosts will continue to be there for you – personally, attentively and with the same commitment as before.

What exactly is ScanHotels?

ScanHotels stands for hotels in the 4-star-plus segment with clear standards: personal service, well thought-out design, genuine quality. Our hotels combine comfort with attitude – and create space for what counts.

Who is behind ScanHotels?

Behind the brand is the Friedemann Kunz Family Foundation together with an experienced team that has shaped our hotel for many years. The ideas that make the ScanHotels brand what it is were developed by parts of the team themselves.
